Thank you for this great link! My personal favorites are #50 Vancouver Doula and #38 Navelgazing Midwife. I can attest to the helpful information, entertaining writings and heartfelt love for birth (and people) these two women have.
It was very interesting for me to read this blog. Thank author for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
One Born Every Minute starts tomorrow. The preview has already shown women on their backs, screaming their heads off and the midwife saying something to the effect of 'this will be the most terrible pain you will ever feel in your life'!!! No wonder we have a nation of women literally petrified to give birth and demanding c-sections. Why do women have to pay to come to active birth antenatal classes to be told to get off their backs in labour and to give birth!!? Why can't the midwives at their birth just tell them that for free - I know I'd be out of a job but I'd give up my whole job just for every single women to have a better birth experience than they are getting at the moment. Let's start the count of how many are on their backs - or rather it might be an easier count to track those who are not!!!

I am passionate about making every birth the best it can be for every woman and her baby, whether that be hospital, birth center, or home.
I believe the first step to better birth is women who are better educated... about their bodies, their incredible abilities, their choices, and the joy of motherhood.
I have been a birth activist and hospital doula for years, and now proudly claim the title of Certified Professional Midwife as well, serving women who choose homebirth.
